Farm Worker
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and friendly Farm Worker to join our estate farming team.
The estate’s in-hand farming operation commenced in early 2024 with a focus on regenerative agriculture. We currently have a herd of 130 luing cattle in a low input and low-cost system; fertilisers and sprays are not used and there is minimal machinery and bought in feed.
Winter forage production and storage is done by contractors. We also have a small flock of Castlemilk Moorit sheep.
About The Role:
- Permanent, full-time,
- 39 hours per week within a stable income arrangement,
Working under the Regenerative Farming Manager, the Farm Worker will primarily be working across all aspects of the management of our herd of Luing Cattle. To drive soil fertility and production we have a commitment to good grass management, relying on an extensive grazing rotation which requires constant attention to detail and working with mobile electric fencing and water facilities.
A range of other tasks may occasionally be required to assist with the many other activities that are taking place on the farm or wider estate.

We are looking for:
- Commitment to the welfare and performance of the livestock in your care.
- A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.
- A commitment to the principles of regenerative agriculture and desire to keep learning.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision and advise on timelines for works required.
- Self-motivation and strong work ethic.
- Someone who is polite and friendly to other team members, neighbours and members of the public.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to the demands of working with animals and changing weather.
Key Skills and Experience
- Cattle management, handling and yard work.
- Experience calving.
- Excellent record keeping and use of agri-IT systems.
- General competency with and care of a range of tools and farm equipment.
- Attention to detail in all aspects of farm work.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Although not a requirement, working cattle dogs would be a plus.
Beneficial qualifications
Although not a requirement, the following tickets or qualifications would be highly beneficial: quad bike, chainsaw, strimmer and tractor driving.
